On the field Day 7 – Baptism, baptism and more baptism!
This morning David & Helen interviewed the sister who’s going to be baptized in the afternoon. We thank God for the sister who has determination of accepting Jesus Christ as her Savior & Lord and the clear understanding of the meaning of baptism.
After that, we had the prayer meeting led by Cathy. She gave a very encouraging sharing about her experience in the STM. Then we went out for visitation.
Later in the afternoon, the S.F. team arrived Santiago safely. They gave us some additional report:-
(a) As they were stranded in Santo Domingo, they had the opportunity to visit more people. In one of
the visitation, they met a young man in a store. After talking to him about the salvation, he accepted
Christ. Another soul won!
(b) There’s another sister in San Francisco after seeing the first baptism, expressed her desire to be
baptized too. After talking to her about salvation & baptism, the S.F. team decided to let her be
baptized together with the other two brothers in the hotel’s swimming pool. So there were 4
brothers & sisters baptized in S.F. (not 3 as reported before). PTL!
(c) In the two night fellowship meetings in S.F., it’s encouraging to see the brothers & sisters very
responsive in group discussion and some of them rededicated to the Lord in the meeting.
In the late afternoon, we hosted the baptism jointly with the Santiago church. The sister gave her testimony which encouraged everyone there. It’s 5th time for Sai to baptize a new believer in this mission. (He’ll need to do one more on Sunday. He has already become a pro!)
At night we had health service & health talk. There was a restaurant owner from Moca (a town about 25 mins from Santiago) who brought her two workers to the meeting. Both of the workers showed interest in knowing the gospel & Jesus Christ. So we thought about visiting them tomorrow if we had a chance.
After the meeting, we stayed till 12:30 a.m. to talk with the people. It’s another fruitful day for the team. Thank God for His grace and thank you for your prayer support!
