Pastor Al
grew up in the snowy area of Buffalo. He met Laurie there, fell in love and they
were married in 1977. Al came to Christ
in 1973 and has been in full time ministry since 1978. He began ministry with
World Impact Inc. in the inner city of Newark NJ. Al, Laurie and their three
children ministered in that city for 14 years and saw the Lord do amazing things. In 1995 Pastor Al began ministering
primarily to Asian Americans in the metropolitan area at Queens Christian
Alliance Church. In 1999 he was invited to pastor the Long Island Alliance
Church. Pastor Al loves to mentor young
men, build up marriages, sing and preach the Word of God. He has a passion for
encouraging believers to discover God's purpose and plan for their lives. He loves spending time with his family. One
other thing he enjoys is hitting a ball, be it golf, tennis, or baseball.
Assistant Pastor
Pastor Peter is
currently serving as the Assistant Pastor at the Long Island Alliance Church
where he ministers to the youth and young adults, preaches whenever he can, and
attends to other ministry responsibilities.
Prior to being called into full time ministry he has worked numerous
years (how old is this guy?) in the corporate world from Accounting &
Finance to Information Technology. As
much as he loved working in IT, he could not resist God’s calling upon his
life. God has given him a heart and a
passion for ministering to young people.
He remembers what it was like to struggle as a teenager, living in
rebellion towards God, feeling empty inside, with a deep sense of hopelessness
and despair. Had it not been for the
grace of God, he would not be alive today (part of his testimony). Peter considers himself to be
“tri-cultural”. He was born in Hong
Kong, but his family moved to the Netherlands when he was about a year old and
he lived there for nine years before immigrating to the US. Peter enjoys traveling, loves eating sushi,
and regularly visits Starbucks. He is
married to Christy and has three wonderful boys.
