On the field Day 6 – “What wants to be baptized?”

On Wednesday the STM team in San Francisco baptized a sister. Yesterday they baptized two more brothers. One of them is called “Wong Kei”. (Those who had been to S.F. STM before, surely you know who’s “Wong Kei”). Yes, it’s him! Guess you must be now jumping up & down for joy. “Man Yee”, wife of “Wong Kei”, must be the happiest person in S.F. today J.  PTL!!! Pray that from now on the couple will serve the Lord together & be the blessing to the Chinese in the community & their family.

In addition to that, a brother, “Heung Sheung”, is willing to open his house for fellowship meeting. That means now we have three places that we can use for STM in S.F. God is good!

The S.F. team will join the other team in Santiago tomorrow. May God give them travel mercy.

In Santiago there will be a sister & a brother to be baptized. In order to accommodate their work schedule, we plan to have one baptismal ceremony on Friday evening at church and one on Sunday afternoon at the beach. Please pray for all those baptized or to be baptized that their faith are strengthened & protected by the power of the Holy Spirit.

This morning in Santiago, Jenny led the morning prayer meeting. Afterwards, we set up the plan for visitation. Again we divide into 2 teams. A brother and a husband of a sisters took their time off to drive us around so we could visit people living farther away.
We went to see a woman who was injured by robbery last year and needed to go through brain surgery twice. Last September when we visited the husband, the wife was resting at home after the first surgery. At that time the husband was very worried and depressed. When we prayed for him and his wife’s condition, his tears came down his face. The wife had the 2nd surgery in January. Today when we saw her in the store, she is totally recovered from the injury without any residual complications. Her husband went out with their daughter. We got the chance to talk to her about the gospel. She realized her recovery was a miracle and told us she really likes to read “Zhong Xin” periodicals
(中信). She also accepted our invitation to Saturday’s Fiesta. Please pray for her salvation.

In the evening, we had fellowship & Bible study. We divided the attendants into 3 groups.

In the believers group, we studied about prayer and encouraged them to serve the Lord.

In the non-believers group, we found everyone was willing to learn more about the gospel & seek for Christ except one young man. He had been challenging the group leader all night. (Yet he came to church every night). We need to pray for him.  May God soften an open his heart.

The 3rd group is made up brothers & sisters who have not yet received baptism. Most of them hesitated to be baptized because of the opposition of their parents. Once again we clarified with them the assurance of salvation by faith and encouraged them to consider baptism in the future. Then we prayed for them.

We had a very good fellowship time. We concluded the day like the nights before with praise & thanksgiving. May the Holy Spirit continue to work through us and give us strength & wisdom. Amen.
